100% Wool Yarns from the Sheep of Manitoulin Island

Hand Dyed, Hand Painted

Freshisle Fibers wool yarns are 100% wool from the sheep of Manitoulin Island.  Freshisle Fibers wool is millspun and processed without the use of harsh chemicals.  The skeins may still contain a few bits of grass/hay that will fall out, can be picked out, and do wash out with laundering.  The natural skeins still contain a bit of lanolin. 

Freshisle Fibers wool is hand dyed and handpainted in small batches and there may be slight variations between skeins.  Most of the natural dyes used are from the plants, barks, nuts, and flowers of Manitoulin Island.  Other colours are achieved with purchased natural dyes and a variety of brands of commercial acid dyes.

Our Suffolk yarns, Mixed Breed yarns, and Double Down yarns are completely machine washable and dryable and will not felt.
